About Live Mesh news

Use Live Mesh news to keep track of activities in your mesh. You can find out who has updated which files or folders, post and read comments, and check the status of your computers. You can view news in the notifier (Appears when you click the Live Mesh icon in the notification area of your Windows taskbar and gives you quick access to the folders, computers, and news in your mesh.) , the mesh bar (Appears when you open a Live Mesh folder, allowing you to invite and remove members, read and post news items, and change synchronization settings.) , and on the News page of the Live Mesh website.

News items will appear when:

• Someone joins a folder
• A member adds, updates, or deletes a file
• A member posts a message to a folder
• A member changes another member's permissions (A setting that lets you limit the actions a member can perform on files in a shared folder.)
• A member leaves a folder

To view news for a single folder

Open the folder. In the mesh bar, under News, you'll see recent news items for that folder. To see more, click View all.

To view news for your entire mesh

Open the notifier, and then click the News icon . The window will display recent news events for all your Live Mesh folders. To see more, click View all news. –or– Go to your News page.

To post a message to a folder

Open the folder. In the mesh bar, under News, click New post. Type your message, then click OK. Note You may need different permissions to perform this folder action. Learn more about Live Mesh folder permissions.
