What is Live Mesh Remote Desktop?

You need that program, but it's at home and you're not. With Live Mesh Remote Desktop, you can connect to a remote computer and use it as if you're sitting right in front of it.

You can:

  • Work with a program on your remote computer even if the program isn't on your local computer.
  • Create and edit files as you typically would.
  • Copy and paste files between your remote computer and your local computer.

To connect to a remote computer, you must first add the computer to your mesh by installing the Live Mesh software. Then you can connect to it from any computer that's connected to the Internet, either from another computer in your mesh or from your Live Desktop.

If the computer to which you want to connect is running Windows Vista, make sure you enable the sync enhancements and Live Mesh Remote Desktop on it. If you don't enable this option, you will not be able to use Live Mesh Remote Desktop to connect to that computer. If you're running Windows XP, the enhancements and Live Mesh Remote Desktop are enabled automatically.

Notes
  • Some corporate networks may block remote connections. Check with your local administrator for more information.
  • Live Mesh Remote Desktop is not compatible with Mac computers.
