About your Live Desktop
The Live Desktop is your Windows PC on the web, where you can see all your synchronized folders in one place. You can store up to 5 GB of files here, then open, edit, save, and share them from any computer or that's connected to the Internet.
To access your Live Desktop:
- Open the notifier (Appears when you click the Live Mesh icon in the notification area of your Windows taskbar and gives you quick access to the folders, computers, and news in your mesh.) , click the Devices icon
, then click Live Desktop.
–or–
- Open a Live Mesh folder. In the mesh bar (Appears when you open a Live Mesh folder, allowing you to invite and remove members, read and post news items, and change synchronization settings.) , under Synchronized Devices, click Live Desktop.
–or–
Go to the Live Mesh website and sign in using your Windows Live ID (The user name and password you use to sign in to any Windows Live, MSN, or Office Live sites and services. If you have a Passport Network, Hotmail, or Windows Live Messenger account, you can use it as your Windows Live ID.) .
- At the top of the page, click Desktop.
Notes
- If you're using a public or shared computer, make sure you sign out of Live Mesh when you're finished to prevent others from gaining access to your files and other personal information.
- Live Mesh does not currently support editing a file on the Live Desktop. You can only upload and view files on the Live Desktop. If you would like to edit and save changes to a file on the Live Desktop, you must either save the file locally and upload it again to the Live Desktop or save the file to a Live Mesh folder on your local device that is synchronized with the Live Desktop.
