Go to the Live Mesh website and sign in using your Windows Live ID.
- On the Devices page, click Add Device
- In the drop-down menu, select , then click Install.
- In the Live Mesh window that opens after the download is complete, drag the Live Mesh icon into your Applications folder.
- Double-click the Applications folder, then double-click Live Mesh.
- In the Sign In dialog box, sign in using your Windows Live ID.
- In the Add Device to Live Mesh dialog box, type a name for your device, then click Add Device.
Now you're ready to begin synchronizing your Live Mesh folders with your Mac. Once you've installed the Live Mesh software, a Live Mesh status icon
will be added to the menu bar on your Mac. Click it to open the Live Mesh notifier and get access to news, folders, and other devices in your mesh.
To add Live Mesh to the Dock, drag Live Mesh from the Applications folder into the Dock. Or, with the Live Mesh application open, press and hold CONTROL while clicking the Live Mesh icon
in the Dock, then click Keep in Dock. If you have a right-click-enabled mouse, you can also right-click the Live Mesh icon in the Dock, then click Keep in Dock.
To set up Live Mesh to start automatically when you log in to your Mac, in the Dock, press and hold CONTROL while clicking the Live Mesh icon
, then click Open at Login. If you have a right-click-enabled mouse, you can also right-click the Live Mesh icon in the Dock, then click Open at Login.
Notes
- During the installation process, you might be prompted to log in as an administrator.
- After you install the Live Mesh software on your Mac, you'll notice a Live Mesh disk-image icon on your desktop. It isn't needed after installation. You can eject it by dragging the icon into the Trash.
- Once you install the Live Mesh software on your Mac, the Live Mesh service will notify you periodically of updates to the software on your device. Learn more.
