Set up e-mail alerts on your mobile phone
If you join Windows Live for Mobile, you can receive e-mail alerts on your mobile phone when you receive e-mail messages at your Windows Live Hotmail account.
To set up e-mail alerts on your mobile phone:

Join Windows Live for Mobile.

- Sign in to the Windows Live Hotmail website with your Windows Live ID (The user name and password that you use to sign in to any Windows Live, MSN, or Office Live sites and services. If you have a Passport Network, Hotmail, or Messenger account, you can use it as your Windows Live ID.) .
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click Options, and then click More options.
- Under Customize your mail, click Mobile alerts for new messages.
- Click Sign up for Windows Live Mobile - it's free and easy.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

- Under What types of Windows Live Hotmail messages do you want to receive mobile alerts for, select the option that you want.
- Optional: Set up your mobile alert filters.
- Select Messages I specify using mobile alert filters, and then click mobile alert filters.
- On the Mobile alert filters page, do one of the following:
| Create a new filter |
- Click New mobile alert filter.
- Select the filter conditions that you want, and then click Save.

| Delete a filter |
- Next to the filter that you want to delete, click Delete.
- In the yellow information bar, click Yes to confirm the deletion.

- After you've configured your filters, click Done.
- Click Save.

The mobile alert feature is a free service, but it may not be available in all markets. Contact your mobile service provider for more information.
