Configure your browser for instant messaging

To share activities or games in Windows Live Messenger, you need to make sure the security settings in your browser allow scripting and cookies.

To configure Windows Internet Explorer for instant messaging:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. On the Security tab, click Internet, and then click Custom Level.
  4. Under Scripting, make sure all the scripting options are enabled.
  5. In the Reset to list, click Medium or a lower setting, and then click OK.
  6. On the Privacy tab, move the slider to Medium or higher, and then click OK.
