Add display pictures to messages
With Windows Live Messenger, you can change or create a display picture (An image associated with your display name that helps others recognize you. It appears in the main Messenger window and in all conversation windows.) for your conversation window (The window you use to send and receive instant messages.) .
Create or change your display picture
On the Tools menu, click Change display picture .
Click the picture you want to display in your messages.

To use a picture from your own computer, click Browse , find the picture on your computer, and then click Open .
Click OK .
Hide your display picture
You can hide and unhide your display picture so that your contacts can't see it.
To hide your display picture:
On the Tools menu, click Change display picture .
At the bottom of the Display Pictures window, select Don't show a picture .
Click OK .
Have Windows Live Messenger store your display picture
Have Messenger store your display picture so that you can log in from any computer and still display your personal message and picture.
Select Tools , and then click Options .
In the left pane, click General .
Select Use the same display picture and personal message wherever I sign in and, then click OK .
Create a dynamic display picture
On the Tools menu, click Change display picture .
In the lower left corner, click one of the links listed to view dynamic display picture options.
Follow the instructions for creating a dynamic display picture, and then click OK .
Note The recommended pixel dimension for display pictures is 96x96.
