Add descriptive tags to photos or videos

Add descriptive tags (Textual data attached to a photo or video to refine its definition and meaning, and to make it findable. You can sort your photos and videos according to what tags they have, making them easier to find.) to your photos and videos to make finding related photos and videos easier. You can create tags and add them to your photos and videos at any time. You can add a tag to several photos and videos at the same time, and you can add as many tags as you want.

Create tags and add them to photos or videos

Start Windows Live Photo Gallery.  Show me how In Windows XP, click Start, and then click Programs. –or– In Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click All Programs. Click Windows Live, and then click Windows Live Photo Gallery. Select one or more photos or videos that you want to add a tag to, and then, at the top of the screen, click Info. In the Info pane, click Add descriptive tag, type the tag name, and then press ENTER.

Add an existing tag to additional photos or videos

Start Photo Gallery.  Show me how In Windows XP, click Start, and then click Programs. –or– In Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click All Programs. Click Windows Live, and then click Windows Live Photo Gallery. In the navigation pane, expand the Descriptive tags node to display a list of all your existing tags. Select one or more photos or vidoes that you want to add a tag to. Drag the photos or videos to the tag that you want to add.

Delete descriptive tags that aren't assigned to photos or videos

Start Photo Gallery.  Show me how In Windows XP, click Start, and then click Programs. –or– In Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click All Programs. Click Windows Live, and then click Windows Live Photo Gallery. Click File, and then click Options. Click the Tags tab, click Delete unused tags, and then click OK.
