Buy an item
Some items (A piece of software uploaded to Windows Live Gallery. These items help you personalize products such as Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Spaces, Windows Live Toolbar, or Windows Vista.) on Windows Live Gallery must be purchased before you you can download them. To buy items you must use Microsoft Points (An online, renewable, stored-value system that lets you purchase digital content from Windows Live Gallery and from other Microsoft products and services. ) . Before you make a purchase, make sure that you want the item. We don't offer any returns or refunds for purchased items.
To buy an item:
- Sign in to Windows Live Gallery with your Windows Live ID (The user name and password that you use to sign in to any Windows Live, MSN, or Office Live sites and services. If you have a Passport Network, Hotmail, or Messenger account, you can use it as your Windows Live ID.) .
- Find an item that has a price associated with it.
- Do one of the following:
 | Buy an item.Click Buy, and then follow the on-screen instructions. |
| Customize an item before you buy it.
- Click Customize.
- Select the options that you want for the item, and then click Finish.
- After you finish customizing an item, follow the on-screen instructions to purchase it.

Notes
- To download a previously purchased item again or to see your purchase history for Gallery items, click Your Gallery.
- If you don't have enough Points to buy the item that you want, you're prompted to buy more Points in the Microsoft Points wizard. To buy more Points, use the payment method that's accepted in your region, and then follow the steps in the wizard.
- To find out how many Points you have or to see your purchase history, at the top of any Gallery page, click Points balance.
